Employment Program of B.C. ~ partnered with the Valemount Learning Centre
If you are: ۰ seeking employment; ۰ looking to retrain; ۰ needing help with your résumé;
then we can help. This program provides one-on-one support and employment counselling in order to help you achieve your employment goals. A computer lab and access to a telephone and fax are also provided to help you be successful.
This program is only available in our McBride location. For support in Valemount, please contact the Valemount Learning Centre at 250-566-4601.
Police-Based Victim Services ~ partnered with the RCMP
If you are a victim of crime or tragedy, a victim service worker can: ۰ provide emotional support; ۰ advise you of legal procedures and processes; ۰ guide you through the legal system if you are required to give a statement or testify in court; ۰ assist you with any forms that may need to be completed; ۰ accompany you to court; ۰ assist you in identifying your options; ۰ refer you to other appropriate services, such as counselling programs.
The program can be contacted through the local police detachments.
If the police are involved in your situation, they will put you in touch with the victim service worker.
Respectful Relationships (R+R) Program ~ partnered with School District #57
R+R is an award-winning, school-based violence prevention curriculum. The program is facilitated by an adult male/female team with youth from Grade 7 through Grade 10 and helps address issues such as bullying, racism, unhealthy relationships, homophobia, and discrimination. It assists youth to become analytical thinkers around the issue of social justice. Further information can be obtained by contacting the Program Coordinator at 250-566-9107.
Pass It On Girls Program ~ partnered with School District #57
Pass It On is a mentoring program between senior and junior high-school girls. The goal is to address concerns and issues the younger girls may be facing as they are entering the high-school environment through a peer mentorship model.
