We provide support to children, youth, and/or their families who are facing a difficult time or require assessment and treatment. We can help with: ۰ stress management ۰ anger management ۰ grief and loss ۰ depression or anxiety ۰ suicide risk assessment ۰ relationship or family issues ۰ referrals to psychological assessment ۰ referrals to psychiatric assessment
Infant Development Consulting
We provide in-home assessment of your infant (age birth to three) to ensure your child is meeting developmental milestones. Our consultant works closely with families to develop activites and strategies to support a child's development and progress, and to provide emotional support to them.
Height and weight screening for three-year olds is also provided regularly through clinics in partnership with Public Health.
Supported Child Development
If you have a child with additional needs, aged 3 to 19, our consultant can provide support and consultation between you and day care staff or teachers, in order to promote inclusion of your child in a group, social, or day care setting. The consultant can assist you in accessing resources and funding for child care, and can also provide support and training for day care staff so to best meet your child's needs.
Family Supports Program
Staff is available to work with children, youth, and/or families in order to best support the success of a family. Some of the issues we can help with are: ۰ parent-teen conflicts; ۰ prevention of child abuse; ۰ stress management; ۰ grief and loss issues for chilren; ۰ budgeting and home management.
Parenting Programs
Curriculum-based parenting programs are offered occasionally and on expressed interest. If you would like to participate in a parenting group or class, please contact either office to make a request.
Past parenting programs have included "How To Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk" and "Nobody's Perfect."
